Back in the 1920s and 30s, good-paying jobs were available for young women but they came with a horrible price. These Shining Lives chronicles the lives, loves and friendships of the “radium girls”, hired to paint watch and clock faces with highly toxic, but little-studied radium-based paint. These Shining Lives by Melanie Marnich, directed by WFU Theatre Professor  Cindy Gendrich will open Wake Forest University Theatre 2014-15 season. Cindy's joined in the studio by student actors Solomon Jordan, Hayley Greenstreet, and Mike Griggs.

These Shining Lives opens Friday, September 19th and runs through the 28th in the Mainstage Theatre of Scales Fine Arts Center with evening shows at 7:30 PM and Sunday matinees at 2:00 PM. WFU and iPlace are sponsoring several events around the performance.
