Dancer/choreographer Jan Van Dyke began her Dance Group in D.C. in the 1970s, reformed it in Greensboro while teaching at UNCG a decade later, and this weekend she comes full circle with the first piece she choreographed for the new group back in 1989: Full Circle.

For more than 20 years Jan has partnered with Greenhill Art Gallery to bring modern dance off campus and into the community. Greenhill will be the site for this weekend's performance of Full Circle set to music by Turtle Island String Quartet. The performance is Friday night, March 6th at 7:00 PM. In addition to Jan's choreography Full Circle restaged for Greenhill, there will be a premiere for 4 dancers, and a structured improvisation designed for the space by Charlotte choreographer E.E. Balcos. The performance is free and open to the public.

Dance Project Program Director and Van Dyke Dance Group company member Anne Morris spoke with David Ford.
