Discover a director's take on Thornton Wilder's The Matchmakera play that reveals itself onstage, advocates for adventure, and does so hilariously.

A wealthy 19th century merchant hires a matchmaker to find his bride, and several adventures later discover that they may have been searching for each other all along.

Thornton Wilder's The Matchmaker comes to Catawba Theatre at Performance Place, November 13-15 at 7:30pm, and November 15 and 16 at 2pm.

For UNC School of the Arts Dean of Drama Carl Forsman, directing Thornton Wilder's humorous romance Matchmaker was destiny. His first professional acting role at the age of 12 came in Wilder's Our Town. Years later he found himself on a theatre panel sandwiched between award-winning playwright and McCarter Theatre Artistic Director Emily Mann, and longtime Center Stage Artistic Director Irene Lewis. Forsman shares what he's learned from this particular piece of theatrical magic.
