Angels in America, Part One: Millenniem Approaches by Tony Kushner stands on its own as one of Americas truly great plays.

What begins as a play about political climate, gay rights and the HIV epidemic, evolves into a story of human survival and the global community.

Angels in America, Part One: Millenniem Approaches, the 1993 Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Tony Kushner, comes to Performance Place on the UNCSA campus Feb. 19-Feb 28th with matinee and evening performances. The play contains mature themes and content and is not recommended for people under 18.

The UNC School of the Arts student actor Alex Bodine who plays Prior, is joined by Los Angeles-based UNCSA alumnus, freelance producer and director Jeremy Skidmore. Skidmore discusses a conversation with playwright Tony Kushner and the timeless nature of the play, and Bodine shares why the "fabulous", big language of the play is fitting for the themes presented.
