Today on Triad To Do, it's the sounds of summer and the powers of superheroes!

Bethany suggests an event to let you experience radio in a different way. WFDD's Generation Listen is hosting our second community Listening Party! We'll be gathering at Geeksboro Coffeehouse Cinema on Thursday, August 27th at 7pm to listen to This American Life's episode on superpowers. We'll discuss whether or not superheroes can be real people, whether real people can become superheroes, and we'll ask your preference for flight or invisibility (John Hodgman conducted a more formal survey). Come join us!

Quique finds something new in Sounds of the Summer Pipe Organ Series. On August 24th, the music series hosts "The New (Old) Kid on the Block 1898 Hook and Hastings Organ" concert. The event features organists John Cummins, Regina Pozzi, and Henry Tysinger. The organ itself is described as "warm, stringy, romantic." The concert is at 7pm at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Winston-Salem.

And Eddie's suggestion this week is cringe-worthy (in a good way). Cringe-Con II is taking place Saturday, August 29th beginning at 4pm outside of Reanimator Records in Winston-Salem. This "complete weirdo music festival" incorporates a superhero/villan costume party as well as performances by Eugene Chadbourne, Tetragrammaton, PRIMOVANHALEN, and more.
