Now that we've officially entered the dog days of summer, what better way to beat the heat than losing yourself in a good film in the comfortable air-conditioned confines of a local art house cinema? There's lots new going on at a/perture cinema in downtown Winston-Salem. Back in January Owner Lawren Desai spoke with David Ford about some of the new and exciting ways Aperture is engaging with our community.

A/perture is an independent, locally-owned movie theater in the heart of downtown Winston-Salem, where they screen a unique mix of independent, foreign, documentary, local, and festival films now in three theatres: two 80-seaters and newly opened 45-seat screening room. You'll find evening screenings seven days a week with additional matinees on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Coming up this entire weekend aperture's Night Shift series continues with screenings of Spaceballs beginning Friday, July 11th at 9:30 PM. Begining Friday, July 25th it's Mars Attacks!
