A Winston-Salem/Forsyth County school bus full of students was involved in a crash Wednesday.

The accident happened around 10 a.m. near Murray Road and Becks Church Road. Police say Bus 771 was on its way to Gibson Elementary, when a car operated by Lakeisha Renay Terry failed to yield the right-of-way and collided with the bus.

Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools spokesman Theo Helm said the students were taken to Brenner Children's Hospital and treated for minor injuries.

"About 20 students from the bus were taken to the hospital to be checked out and we are fortunate that they are all ok. The other 18 students on the bus were taken to Gibson Elementary after the wreck on a replacement bus and that bus has been towed away for repairs," said Helm.

Winston-Salem Police say Terry was issued a traffic citation. Anyone with any information regarding this incident is asked to call the city's police department at 773-7700.
