Greensboro Police say a man was shot and killed on the campus of North Carolina A&T State University late Thursday night.

Shortly before 11:30 p.m. Thursday, campus police found Vic Kimeko D. James, 25, suffering from a gunshot wound in a vehicle near Pride Hall.

James was taken to Moses Cone Hospital, where he died from the injury. He was not a student at the university.

The incident also involved an unidentified woman visiting the campus who told police she got into a struggle with another man who had a gun. The assailant fled the scene. It remains unclear if the fatal shot was fired during that struggle.

According to a police press release, this was the third fatal shooting in Greensboro in 24 hours. Officials haven't determined if any of the homicides are related.
