Deck the Halls at Sawtooth School for Visual Art began as a little 3-day art show featuring the work of a few dozen artists and craftsmen. It was called “Holiday Sale” and a portion of the proceeds raised supported the School. That was 24 years ago. Today, Deck the Halls in the expanded Sawtooth building will transform the teacher and student art store, 2,000 square foot gallery space, and two enormous classrooms into a massive retail art store. It's filled with inventory brought in by teachers at the Sawtooth School, students, patrons, and others from across the state and beyond.

More than 80 artists and their works have been accepted this year, and their work will be sold over a three week period. Deck the Halls, the school's annual signature fundraiser gets underway with a special preview party on Thursday night, December 5th from 6 to 9PM, and will continue through the 21stSawtooth School for Visual Art Executive Director Joanne Vernon spoke with David Ford about this important annual fundraiser.
