Economic development officials in High Point and elsewhere in the Triad are banding together in a new initiative. The idea is to spotlight the diversity of the region's economy.
High Point will be teaming with Alamance County, Greensboro and Winston-Salem to publish “North Carolina's Piedmont Triad Community Profile 2014-2015.”
The High Point Enterprise reports that this joint marketing brochure will highlight the region's combined assets to boost an effort to maintain jobs and add to the local tax base.
Loren Hill, president of the High Point Economic Development Corp., told the newspaper that with the recent loss of public funding for the Piedmont Triad Partnership, the new alliance will be a crucial element for development in the region.
Near the top of the list of highlighted assets will be High Point University's proposed School of Pharmacy, Physical Therapy and Physician Assistant Studies.
A working draft of the document also spotlights two growing research centers : the Gateway University Research Park and the Wake Forest Innovation Quarter.
