Alto saxophonist Adam McCord is a UNC at Greensboro alumnus who recently received his Doctor of Music degree at Indiana University. He's performed with the National Symphony Orchestra as well as international saxophone conferences and congresses from San Jose to Slovenia. The Yamaha Performing Artist is also a respected educator, having served on the faculties of the prestigious Indiana University Jacob's School of Music, and Miami University among others, and he currently teaches at Wake Forest University.

Adam McCord's velvety sound, impeccable, supple technique and his supreme musicianship will be on full display next weekend, when he'll perform two recitals, one in Greensboro and one in Winston-Salem. He recently stopped by to talk about the music on the program and the instrument he's loved since he was a boy: the saxophone.

On Friday, January 29th, you can hear him in recital in Organ Recital Hall on the UNC at Greensboro School of Music. Then on Sunday, the 31st, Winston-Salem audiences will be treated to the same program beginning at 3:00 in Brendle Recital Hall in the Scales Fine Arts Center on the Wake Forest University campus.
