Major Highway Closed Temporarily In Winston-Salem

A major roadway in Winston-Salem is closed due to an accident.

U.S. Highway 421 northbound near the 5th Street exit will likely be closed for several hours.

The closure is due to debris being removed from a traffic accident involving a tractor-trailer. The Winston-Salem Police Department is currently investigating, and is reporting minor injuries and spilled cargo.

It is recommended that travelers use Interstate 40, or other alternate routes
