Inmar, a consumer transaction network and systems company, has a new home and a new partnership.

The company has consolidated its three local offices into one headquarters in the Wake Forest Innovation Quarter in downtown Winston-Salem. In making the move Monday, Inmar also announced a partnership with Wake Forest School of Medicine's Division of Public Health Sciences. They will also move into the Quarter next month.

The partnership will take advantage of Inmar's data analysis skills to help recruit patients to clinical trials. Inmar Chairman and CEO David Mounts says Inmar already processes about one-third of the nation's medical scripts.

About 900 Inmar employees will work in the new headquarters. They were once R.J. Reynolds Tobacco buildings and they date back to the 1920s. John McConnell, CEO of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, says most of the growth of the Innovation Quarter has focused on life-sciences companies. But McConnell says there's a growing need for them to have access to data analytics.

Inmar was founded in downtown Winston-Salem in 1980. The company processes coupons, helps companies handle product returns, and processes prescription scripts for pharmacies. Last year, the company processed more than 3 billion transactions.
