This weekend a Winston-Salem based non-profit, a center for art, and a team of filmmakers will come together to celebrate the power of “voice.”

The documentary film Ink From My Soul follows Tony Jenkins and Hunter Mcintosh, two young members of the local non-profit Authoring Action.  Jenkins says the group is all about "creating youth empowerment through spoken word, music, dance, film...giving a voice to young people."

On Sunday, March 3rd, The Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art will host a screening of Ink From My Soul.  The film was created and directed by Catherine Weiner, a Wake Forest Documentary Film Program graduate, and current Documentary Film Program student Vanessa Moorer.

SECCA will screen Ink From My Soul this Sunday at 1pm followed by a reception.  At 3pm, members of Authoring Action will be engaging audiences with original works.
