You can stretch your dollar further at a new Greensboro store.

The Greensboro Salvation Army is opening a new family store. It'll be at 2100 North Elm Street, in the former Rite Aid building.  The store will sell donated clothing, furniture and many household items.

Director of Marketing and Public Relations Ellen Bliven says 100% of the profits are used to support some of the non-profit's programs including the Salvation Army's Center of Hope on South Eugene Street and the Boys and Girls Club. “We're able to help people who are facing homelessness or who are in homelessness. We can provide them a case worker and support them as they get back on their feet and into a home of their own," explains Bliven. "The money generated by this store also goes to our Boys and Girls Club. Here we provide an afford afterschool and summer program for many families.”

The new store features two drive-thru lanes for donation drop off.  It'll be open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday hours are from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. This store will service residents in the city and in the northern part of Guilford County. This is the third Salvation Army family store in Greensboro.  The other two are 307 W. Lee Street The Salvation Army Select Store at 3610 North Elm Street. People can also
donate at any of the dry cleaning locations of A Cleaner World.
