The export business is growing nationally, especially in the Tar Heel state. According to the federal International Trade Administration, in 2012, North Carolina’s export shipments of merchandise totaled $28.8 billion.

On Wednesday, about two dozen business leaders from the Piedmont Triad had a chance to learn more about export opportunities from one of President Obama’s top business leaders during an event at the Proximity Hotel in Greensboro.

Frank Hochberg, the Chairman & President of the Export-Import Bank of the United States, talked about growing U.S. trade and the President’s plan to double exports by 2015.   WFDD’s Keri Brown spoke with him about the agency’s impact on North Carolina.

Hochberg was the featured speaker Wednesday at an event hosted by the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro.
