The Dan River Girls are 14-year-old mandolinist and cellist Fiona Burdette, and her sisters 12-year-old Ellie on bass, and 9-year-old Jessie on fiddle. You can frequently catch them in concert during Roots Revival at Centenary Methodist Church in downtown Winston-Salem. They've also played at several outdoor festivals in the Triad and surrounding areas including Second Sundays on Fourth in downtown Winston-Salem.  The first 2014 Second Sunday on Fourth is scheduled for May 11th. They (the Dan River Girls) combine old timey classics, with bluegrass and Scottish tunes, as well as their own new arrangements of classics like Our Lips are Sealed by the Go-Gos, Only You by Yaz, and more. The Dan River Girls joined David Ford in Studio A, and were also joined by Second Sunday on Fourth organizer and Camino Bakery owner Cary Clifford.

In November The Dan River Girls competed in the Winston-Salem Shuffle Showcase at Krankies Coffee, and placed second! The next Shuffle will be Saturday, March 29th at 8 PM. Admission is 5 bucks. Krankies is located at 211 EAST 3RD STREET.
