Stories come in many forms, and Authoring Action is cultivating all of them: stories of change, stories of advocacy, and stories of self-realization.

The Winston-Salem based non-profit is an arts and education outreach organization that mentors young authors. The group is in the midst of their Summer Intensive which involves creative writing through the senses and collaborating with professional artists such as Tyler Nail, Paul Douse, Jimmie Jeter, Jennifer O'Kelly, Brandon Woods and more.

The Summer Intensive Final Performances will be held Thursday, July 30th and Friday, July, 31st at 7:00pm and Saturday, August 1st at 4:00pm. All performances will be held at SECCA. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.

Co-Founder and Executive Director Lynn Rhoades was joined in studio by Authoring Action Alumnus and mentor Tony Jenkins. Bethany spoke with the two and began by asking Tony what kept him coming back to Authoring Action, as both participant and teacher.
