Art Madness 2013 is UNC Greensboro Art Alumni and Faculty exhibiting and selling their remarkable works to support the school they love. From Saturday's Opening Reception for the public through the 15th, the school will present more than 180 paintings, photographs, ceramics, mixed media, fiber, wood, bronze sculptures and more. They're by artists with big names here in the Triad art scene to big names in New York and everyplace in-between. Prices range from 40-dollars to 10-thousand dollars with 40% of the proceeds from each sale going to support UNCG Art Department programs. The gala event is Friday, March 8 from 6-9pm at Gatewood Studio Arts Building on campus, and Saturday's free public reception is 1-5 there. UNCG Art Department Head Lawrence Jenkens spoke with me about three of the more than 70 artists represented during Art Madness 2013, beginning with Greensboro artist William Mangum.
