Across the Blue Ridge #67 - Fiddler Buddy Pendleton, bluegrass classics, and some new recordings

This week we profile Buddy Pendleton (1935-2017), a remarkably talented and fluid Patrick County, Virginia fiddle player whose repertoire spanned old time, bluegrass, folk, swing and jazz. Raised without benefit of a formal music teacher, he learned his first tunes from his uncle, Delmar Pendleton, and went on to become a master of the traditional fiddle.  Also on this week's program, some classic bluegrass from another talented fiddler, Aubrey Haynie; selections from Josh Graves' timeless Dobro album; a couple of songs from Larry Sparks' latest compilation; and explorations from the core of old time music through new recordings by Rayna Gellert, Luke Richardson and Jody Kruskal, and others.
