Across the Blue Ridge #29 - Youngsters tearing up the old time and bluegrass world

Coast to coast and around the world, there's a new crop of musicians storming the roots music world with loads of enthusiasm, great skills, and the sort of down home informality and humility that make for excellent playing and fine entertainment.  This week on Across the Blue Ridge, we visit with three of them in performance at Muddy Creek Music Hall.  Fiddler Kitty Amaral of Elk Creek, VA is 13.  Her pals,  guitarist Presley Barker and bass player Kyser George, both from nearby North Carolina, are 11.  They've been catching the attention of established musicians and audiences alike at fiddlers' conventions, festivals and on radio and TV.  We hear their music and their stories, plus music from their mentors. Host Paul Brown also guides us through some other old time and bluegrass gems from the Carter Family, Scott Prouty and John Gallagher, and a new  bluegrass band called High Fidelity.
