Radio Camp is a week-long, summer enrichment day camp for students aged 11 to 14 interested in technology, journalism, and the exciting world of radio! Over the week, students learn the basics of audio recording in the studio and "in the field;" how to conduct an interview; how to edit sound on computers into a news story; and the other skills needed to write, record, edit, and create stories for broadcast on 88.5 WFDD!
Summer 2017 Radio Camp sessions are taking place these weeks:
- Winston-Salem I: July 10 - 14
- Greensboro: July 17 - 21
- Winston-Salem II: July 24 - 28
Radio Camp Winston-Salem is held at the 88.5 WFDD studios on the campus of Wake Forest University. Radio Camp Greensboro is held at the studios of WQFS on the campus of Guilford College. Camp runs Monday through Friday, from 9am to 1pm, with drop-off as early as 8:30am, and each session is limited to 14 campers. Radio Camp is taught by WFDD staff members assisted by college students, other public radio industry professionals, and station volunteers.
