Katherine White Foster is a nearly native daughter of Winston-Salem, moving to the area with her family when she was 6 years old. She graduated from Bishop McGuinness Memorial High School and UNC-Greensboro (BA English). Katherine’s involvement with nonprofit management began as a volunteer board member with the Forsyth Humane Society while she was employed at the Winston-Salem Journal. Later she handled marketing and fundraising for the Second Harvest Food Bank of NWNC and the Winston-Salem office of the national community development nonprofit, Local Initiatives Support Corporation. Katherine worked for seven years at AIDS Care Service first as Vice President of Operations and mostly recently as President of the organization. She is now the Executive Director of the New Winston Museum.
