88.5 WFDD is proud to sponsor BOOKMARKS Festival of Books, on Saturday, September 11th. Join the fun in Winston-Salem’s Downtown Arts District, at the intersection of Sixth and Trade Streets, from 10am to 5pm.
BOOKMARKS brings writers and readers of all ages together as renowned authors, illustrators, storytellers and chefs share their work and insights through readings, presentations, panel discussions, workshops and booksignings. This free festival partners with community organizations, reading related exhibitors, and a variety of food vendors. The sixth annual festival will feature more than 40 authors along with creative and interactive activities for children.
88.5 WFDD is proud to sponsor the 2010 Winston-Salem Air Show. Join us on September 11th and 12th at Smith Reynolds Airport in Winston-Salem for aerobatic performances, formation teams, military fly-bys, helicopter rides, a kids’ zone, and much more.
The Aeroshell Aerobatic Team has been the best civilian formation team for many years. The team has been performing air shows for over twenty years. Flying the AT-6 Texan, you will see why beginning in 1938 the military used the AT-6 to train future pilots of the P-51 Mustang, F4U Cosair, P-40 Warhawk and others.
The Aeroshell team puts the Texan through several tight formation and aerobatic maneuvers to show off this aircraft's grace and beauty. See this aerobatic team and many more performers at this year's Winston-Salem Air Show.
In an effort to market itself to the community, as part of its public service, and in fulfillment of its mission statement, 88.5 WFDD partners with select arts and community events in its coverage area. Supported events must be located in or closely adjacent to WFDD’s listening area, open to the general public, and of general interest to our listenership.
WFDD’s media partnership of an event is in the form of on air promotional announcements, and potentially website and email exposure for the sponsored event. On air promotional announcements are up to 30 seconds in length and are valued at $55 per spot. Web presence is valued at $75 per week’s exposure. Hyperlink mention in WFDD’s monthly email newsletter is valued at $500.

88.5 WFDD, the NPR® news and Triad Arts station broadcasting from Wake Forest University, is the only public radio station of its kind located in the Piedmont Triad. It broadcasts news, information, and public affairs programming covering the arts, people, and institutions in the area from both its Winston-Salem and Greensboro studios.
The state's charter NPR® member, 88.5 WFDD is the longest continuously broadcasting public radio station in North Carolina. It is a member of the North Carolina Public Radio Association.
