With an ACCIAC research grant, Cami Burruss studied the traditional Indian art of Pahari miniature painting under renowned artist, Vijay Sharma, in Chamba, India. During her two month stay she created 9 paintings, compiled a handmade sketchbook, and was able to fully immerse herself in the culture of her ancestors. Her exhibition demonstrates multiple aspects of the art of miniature painting, and includes two works by her teacher, her Guru. Teacher/student models, Hindu beliefs, and Pahari painting styles and materials are all encompassed by Cami’s exhibition.
